THIS WAS ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS WITH GEN 2. THEY DID NOTHING BUT HANG AROUND ALL DAMN DAY FOR 2 SEASONS, AND THEN I’M SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE, IN THE FINALE, THAT TWO OF THEM GOT INTO HARVARD (ONE ON A SPONTANEOUS TRACK SCHOLARSHIP AFTER BEING EXPELLED, AND THE OTHER DID EXTRA CLASSES ON THE DL WHEN, LAST TIME WE CHECKED, SHE WAS DOING COSMETOLOGY COURSES)? I’M LIKE, “WHEN DID WE LAST EVEN SEE THEM GOING TO SCHOOL? SITTING IN CLASS? THINKING ABOUT ~THE FUTURE~?” THE ONLY PERSON WHO SEEMED INTERESTED IN UNI WAS NAOMI IN THAT ONE EPISODE. GODDAMN AND THANK FUCK FOR GEN 3 AFTER THAT MESS.
I totally agree with you (as usual, lol)
I’ve always said that one of the biggest reasons why I didn’t like Gen 2 was that I couldn’t connect to any of the characters properly and didn’t feel like I knew them at all. And I think that’s why I never connected with them. School is a big part of life at that age and most people (of all age) are interested in something besides hanging around and partying and having drama in their life. A well-rounded character must have interests and some kind of ambitions - unless the whole point of the character is their lack of interest and ambition.
Yup. And even the gen 2 characters with some sort of interest (JJ had his little magic tricks, and Thomas was into music) were pretty much shuffled off to the side as background characters. I can’t stand that shit. I think they solved that issue with gen 3 but idk.
THIS THIS THIIIIS!
